the ultimate guide to a weekend in charleston, south carolina

Nothing feels better than packing up your car and driving to the beach. When my friend asked me if I wanted to join her for a content weekend in Charleston, I couldn’t resist! If you have a trip to Charleston planned an have no clue where to start, this is for you!

Day 1: Arriving in Charleston, The Battery, King Street, Dinner at Folly Beach

Morning

I arrived in Charleston at around 10 AM and went straight to The Battery. There is so much history in all of Charleston but specifically this area. The streets are lined with beautiful, colorful homes and a breathtaking waterfront view.

Afternoon

Late lunch at Eli’s Table.

I headed to King Street to meet up with Molly and Mckenz and we ate at Eli’s Table. The food was great but the atmosphere was lackluster.

Evening

Dinner at Wiki Wiki Sandbar.

After leaving downtown, we went over to Folly Beach for dinner. I loved our starter and my drink, calamari and the frozen strawberry margarita. For the main I got shrimp and pasta which I would rate a 5/10. I got tons of recommendations for where to eat in Charleston over on Instagram which I will leave below!

Finally we headed to our Airbnb. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Only a few blocks to the beach, very spacious, and very affordable for the area.

Day 2: Sunrise at Folly Beach, Taco Boy, James Island

Morning

Matcha at Center Street Coffee.

I woke up early to catch the sunrise and I’m so glad that I did. This is a must! we headed back downtown to take some photos and stroll through the streets.

Afternoon

Lunch at Taco Boy.

This was by far my favorite meal during our time in Charleston. This was gifted so we decided to try a good bit of the menu. For starters, we got the Appetizer Trio with chips and the Queso Fries. Both 10/10 for me although we didn’t need both lol. For the main, I got the Southwest Shrimp and the Chicken Bacon Ranch Tacos as well as Mexican Street Corn. As if we hadn’t had enough, we got the churros for dessert which did not disappoint.

This meal was an all around 10/10 for me. The service, the atmosphere, the food, all top notch. If you are in Charleston, make sure to include Taco Boy in your plans!

Evening

Headed to our James Island Airbnb.

Dinner at Bay Street Biergarten.

We stayed at the Four Winds Inn and I highly recommend. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Charleston and is the most charming guest suite. A full tour is on my YouTube channel which is linked below.

Dinner at the Bay Street Biergarten was so wholesome. They played great music and the food and company were even better. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and fries although next time I will get the gluten free chicken tenders. Regardless, the food was great and I will definitely be back.

Day 3: Downtown Charleston, Sullivans Island, Heading Home

Morning

We headed to Downtown Charleston one last time to take a few more photos and say goodbye to Molly. It was our first time meeting but we had so much fun and I cant wait for our next trip!

Afternoon

McKenz and took the drive to Sullivans Island for lunch at Poe’s Tavern.

This is definitely out of the way but worth the trip. I got the Chicken Amontillado which was different for me but I loved it.

After lunch we wanted a sweet treat so we walked over to BeardCats for some gelato. I got the sweet cream and strawberry and id rate it a solid 9/10.

Sadly, that concluded our time in Charleston. I had such a great time and always love getting to spend time with people who just enjoy life to the fullest. I vlogged the entire trip and linked it below.

until next time,
